This One's for Paul Sabolic and Mike D'Antuono

Not really too much too report this week but if I don't write something my top two blog groupies, Paul Sabolic and Mike D'Antuono, might need hospitalization and I don't want that on my conscience.

After my absence last weekend during our Washington at Colorado football weekend, I was back doing color commentary for a non-league game . . .

It looked to be a good one as
5-0 Westlake visited 4-1 Oxnard

Oxnard RB Danny Smith
rushed for 210 yards and 4 TDs

Oxnard QB Vincent Walea completed
14 of 21 passes for 274 yards and 3 TDs

Oxnard's Yellowjackets pulled off a huge, season signature 47-34 win over the Westlake Warriors.

Oxnard (5-1) opens up Pacific View League play this Friday vs. the Hueneme Vikings (3-3).

For Westlake (5-1) things do not get any easier with another Non-league contest at Calabasas (5-0).

As for our broadcasting crew, we will be podcasting another good VCStar.com Game-of-the-Week as the 4-2 Newbury Park Panthers travel to take on the also 4-2 Oaks Christian Lions.

Saturday was
GAME DAY
for the mighty Ninja Sharks!

Jacob and his Personal Trainer
before the game in his private
training room

 Ninja Sharks just having fun
before the game vs. the Cobras

 Jacob, #5, scoring the game's
first goal

Goose Stepping or just
kicking the ball?

Jacob has CRAZY hair!

After the game we introduced
the Whammo Slip-n-Slide into
Jacob's life for the first time

Not 100% clear on the concept . . .

. . . Mike tried to give him a crash
course on proper Slip-n-Slide etiquette

Saturday night we went to the
Palos Verdes at Newbury Park game

Here Jacob and Mike get a close up view of Newbury Park Panther's goal line offense. The 4-2 Panthers beat the 2-3 Palos Verdes Sea Kings 20-0.

Reading Is FUNdamental!

 WOW!

Just when I thought that she couldn't write any darker Nordic Noir books, this came into the Camarillo Public Library!

Easily the GREATEST non-fiction
book in the history of American literature,
GRIPPING!

Thanks to Mike D'Antuono for surprising both Paul Sabolic and myself with copies of this epic tome at our lunch meeting last Friday.

I thought Ben-Hur was great but now I can't wait for the movie of this instant classic!
