Football Monday

First and foremost, THANKS, MERCI and DANKE to the U-19 team for giving me my excellent Thun Tiger jacket before our U-19 game on Sunday. I LOVE IT!!!

Monday was all Tiger football all day long for me.

First up, breaking down the game film from Sunday's 6-0 victory over Luzern. The euphoria of the Tigers first win of the 2012 season after going 1-9 in 2011 was great but it was time to come back to Mother Earth.

The keys to victory were our "bend but don't break defense" led by the Brunner Bros. (Kilian, Michael and Johannes) Linebacking Corps (42 combined tackles) that did not allow the Lions any long plays and the great kicking/punting of Niklaus Rhyner (also 13 tackles and a fumble recovery from his Strong Safety position).

Offensively, we had a very hard time moving the ball consistently against Luzern's very stout defense.

We still have a long ways to go before we can call ourselves a good team, but we are on the right track.

U-16 Practice

That is young WR Simon Purtscheller who is WAY under 16 in the middle of the huddle. Simon is a willing worker who never misses a practice. Simon has a bright future as do his two older brothers Joel and Sem.

We had a good U-16 practice and then an intense U-19 practice.

All three teams need to learn how to practice harder and more efficiently. We're learning in small but violent steps.
