Laurie's First Swedish Nature Walk

We spent most of the day reading and packing for our upcoming cruise that will start in Stockholm and take us to Tallinn, Estonia, St. Petersburg, Russia and Helsinki, Finland.

In the evening we went for a nice long relaxing walk to the Magle Våtmark wetlands.

Mid Sommar Festival is this Friday

Tomorrow is one of the biggest holidays on the Swedish calendar incorporating the summer solstice with pagan celebrations.

For the kids there will be the raising of the Mid Sommar Pole decorated with flowers and ribbons. The kids, I am told, will sing songs and dance traditional dances. There should also be a series of traditional games for the kids.

For the adults there will be food and beverages as well and tradition has it that the party goes on until sunrise Saturday, about 3:00 a.m.

This should be interesting INDEED!

George how many people would remember Tonto never mind the fact that his horse's name was Scout. It gave me quite a chuckle. One of Jasons' SAC moments. Enjoy your cruising.
