Lipari

After all the hubbub of the last ten days, we decided to drive up to Milazzo and catch a hydrofoil to the island of Lipari in the Aeolian Islands near the north coast of Sicily to unwind a bit.

Where exactly are the Aeolians?

Lipari is the most inhabited of the Aeolians and serves as a good base to ferry to a few of the other islands on Friday.

Our Hotel Aktea is located on this strada in Lipari.

These two Palermo based anti-Mafia judges were both killed in car bombings by the Mafia in the early 1990's.

This first day all we wanted to do was nothing but sit in the pool or lay in a chaise lounge working on our new summer tans.

We did find yet another GREAT dinner at the
"Osteria Mediterranea".

Lipari by night was a nice surprise too.

Stay tuned for Friday's trip to the island of Vulcano and their famous mud baths.
